Services We Provide

  • Consultation: We will meet with you and assess your dental issue. We will recommend endodontic treatments based on imaging and examination.
  • Non-Surgical Root Canal Therapy: A pulp infection can cause pain, tenderness, and sensitivity to hot and cold. A root canal is a comfortable procedure that removes infected pulp from inside the tooth, including the roots. In most cases, the endodontist can relieve your pain and return you to your normal activities after just one appointment.
  • Non-Surgical Root Canal Retreatment: After months or years, a tooth that received a root canal may begin to hurt again. This problem happens when the dentist leaves small amounts of infected material after a root canal. The endodontist can repeat the procedure, ensuring all inflamed material is absent before resealing the tooth.
  • Apicoectomy (Endodontic Surgery): During endodontic surgery, the doctor opens the gum to access the root's infected apex (tip). The doctor sections the root and removes the infection, cleaning and reshaping the canal. They fill the cut end and secure the gum tissue over the surgery site.
  • Single-Tooth Internal Bleaching: When a tooth undergoes a root canal, sometimes it develops unsightly internal stains. These stains do not respond to conventional teeth whitening. The endodontist whitens the tooth from the inside, then reseals it.
  • Internal Resorption: Primary teeth naturally undergo this process, but it is a serious problem in a permanent tooth. The tooth begins to break down from the inside to the point where it could fall out. To stop this process, the endodontist performs a root canal and treats the inside of the tooth with calcium hydroxide.
  • Apexogenesis: When a child's permanent teeth do not develop strong roots, an endodontist can help by placing a bioactive material inside the pulp chamber. This material encourages the root to grow and develop a strong apex.
  • External Resorption: The body may attack the bone that supports a tooth when it thinks the nerve in the tooth is diseased. This can cause the tooth to loosen and fall out. Teeth undergoing this process break down and turn brittle. Dental trauma or unerupted teeth below the gum line could cause this problem. The endodontist treats it with a root canal procedure and introduces a mineralizing solution.
  • Apexification: This is another procedure that deals with underdeveloped roots. This procedure differs from apexogenesis in that doctors perform it after a root canal. The doctor uses calcium hydroxide to build a calcified barrier and secure the root.
  • Laser Endodontics: Lasers provide safe, effective treatment during root canals and other procedures. Lasers sanitize teeth, making repeat infections less likely. They do not cause uncomfortable pressure or vibration.
  • Emergency Treatment: Finding dental treatment outside regular office hours can be difficult. If your problem cannot wait for a scheduled appointment, call us, and we will take care of you as soon as possible. Call our Emergency After Hours Dental Care Helpline at 407-494-3636 after 8 PM.

Frequently Asked Questions About Endodontic Care

What should I do if I break a tooth?
If you break a tooth, see an endodontist as soon as possible. If the break is severe, you may have exposed pulp, leading to an increased chance of pain and infection. The sooner you can have the break addressed with a root canal, the more likely you will be to escape complications.
What are the signs that I need a root canal?
  • Pain when putting pressure on a tooth
  • Pain when chewing
  • Persistent toothache
  • Swollen gums
  • Pus along the gum line
  • Facial swelling
  • A break, crack, or chip in your tooth
Can a root canal save my tooth?
Keeping your natural teeth is important because it preserves the root structure. A healthy root allows the jawbone to stay at full strength. Often, a root canal can save your natural tooth from extraction. In addition, extracting teeth leads to expensive restorations like bridges and implants.
