Services We Provide
- Consultation: We will meet with you, examine your teeth, and determine the best treatment for your dental problem.
- Non-Surgical Root Canal Therapy: Today, root canals are comfortable procedures that involve cleaning inflamed pulp inside your tooth. After removing the diseased pulp, the doctor cleans and sanitizes the root canals, shaping them to prevent future problems. The doctor then refills your tooth with a specialized plastic and reseals it with a temporary crown. Your family dentist will provide a permanent crown.
- Non-Surgical Root Canal Retreatment: Occasionally, teeth that received root canals months or years ago may begin to cause problems again. If your tooth develops any symptoms after a root canal, call us as soon as possible to address the issue. We can repeat the procedure and catch any infected material the dentist may have missed.
- Apicoectomy (Endodontic Surgery): This procedure is also called root-end resection. Endodontic surgery involves opening the gum tissue to allow access to the root. It may become necessary if the apex (tip) of the root has become infected. The endodontist removes the root apex to clear the infection and reseals the root, closing the gum tissue.
- Single-Tooth Internal Bleaching: Teeth that need root canals sometimes experience internal staining. This problem can happen before or after the root canal. The endodontist inserts bleach into the opened tooth, allowing it to work on internal discoloration. After the tooth has reached the desired shade, they remove the bleach and reseal it.
- Internal Resorption: Although this is a natural process for primary teeth, it is a serious problem for permanent teeth. The tooth breaks down from within and may fall out. To prevent tooth loss, the endodontist performs a root canal and strengthens the tooth's interior with calcium hydroxide.
- Apexogenesis: This procedure helps underdeveloped tooth roots grow healthy and strong. The endodontist removes some pulp and replaces it with a bioactive material that supports root growth.
- External Resorption: Root resorption is a condition where the bone supporting a tooth breaks down and eats away at the root. It can happen when the body believes that the nerve in the tooth is diseased and therefore tries to attack it. Endodontists treat weak, brittle teeth by performing a root canal and treating them with a mineralizing solution.
- Apexification: This process builds a strong, calcified root tip for an underdeveloped permanent tooth. The endodontist does a root canal to clear the inflamed pulp and applies a calcium hydroxide solution to strengthen the tip.
- Laser Endodontics: We use dental lasers in many endodontic procedures. Lasers make procedures faster, safer, and more comfortable. You will not feel vibration or pressure when we perform laser treatments.
- Emergency Treatment: Finding emergency dental care can be challenging, especially if you need endodontic care. After 8 PM, call our Emergency After Hours Dental Care Helpline at 407-494-3636. We can give you a prompt appointment and resolve your issue so you can return to your normal activities

Frequently Asked Questions About Endodontic Care
What are the signs that I need a root canal?
- Persistent tooth pain
- Pain when biting, chewing, or putting pressure on one tooth
- Swelling or pus on the gums
- Facial swelling
- Extreme heat and cold sensitivity
Why is it important to see an endodontist instead of my general dentist for a root canal?
While many general dentists perform root canals well, others do not have enough experience to ensure the procedure is successful. General dentists are more likely to miss infected material due to complex canal anatomy. This problem can lead to root canal retreatment and possibly endodontic surgery.
How does a root canal save a tooth from extraction?
Teeth that need root canals may have enough damage that they cannot support a standard filling. However, if enough tooth structure remains, you will be able to receive a crown that protects your natural tooth and prevents extraction.
