Services We Provide
- Consultation: The doctor will meet with you and assess your dental problem. They will create a plan and let you know whether endodontic treatment is the best course of action.
- Non-Surgical Root Canal Therapy: Root canals relieve pain by removing infected pulp material inside the tooth. To perform a root canal, the doctor opens the tooth, removes the problem material, and cleans and reshapes the interior of the root canals to prevent reinfection. The doctor then closes the tooth and prepares a temporary crown. You will receive a permanent crown from your family dentist.
- Non-Surgical Root Canal Retreatment: Occasionally, dentists miss small amounts of infected pulp inside a tooth. This problem can cause a tooth with a root canal to hurt again after months or years. The endodontist can repeat this procedure and treat the new infection.
- Apicoectomy (Endodontic Surgery): When the apex (tip) of the root becomes infected, it can be challenging to treat. An endodontist can perform an apicoectomy, removing the root tip and the source of the infection. The endodontist then reseals the root tip.
- Single-Tooth Internal Bleaching: Some root canals cause staining that cannot be removed with standard teeth whitening because it is on the inside of the tooth. Internal bleaching can improve the appearance of teeth that have undergone root canals.
- Internal Resorption: Sometimes, teeth begin to break down from the inside. This problem can happen after dental trauma. Endodontists can rescue teeth from resorption by cleaning the root canals, applying a calcium hydroxide solution to remove the problem cells, and resealing the tooth.
- Apexogenesis: Children's teeth may fail to develop strong, healthy roots. Endodontists can treat these teeth by removing the inflamed pulp and replacing it with a unique bioceramic material to maintain root vitality.
- External Resorption: Teeth that easily break, chip, and turn brittle may be experiencing external resorption. Resorption is a condition in which the bone surrounding the root of a tooth begins to break down and eat away at the root. Resorption happens naturally to a child's primary teeth, but in permanent teeth, it can be a severe problem triggered by dental trauma and medical conditions. Treatment includes a root canal and cleaning the tooth's interior with calcium hydroxide.
- Apexification: When teeth fail to form a robust root system, they could weaken and fall out. Apexification strengthens the roots and encourages them to calcify and harden.
- Laser Endodontics: Using a laser makes endodontic treatment faster, safer, and more comfortable. We use the Fotona LightWalker Laser to provide gentle treatment.
- Emergency Treatment: When you are in pain or have experienced dental trauma, getting to the dentist quickly matters. Call 407-494-3636 to reach our Emergency After Hours Dental Care Helpline after 8 PM.

Frequently Asked Questions About Endodontic Care
What are the symptoms that mean I may need a root canal?
- Swelling on the gum, face, or jaw
- Pus or drainage
- Tooth discoloration
- Swollen, tender lymph nodes
- Pain when biting or chewing on the tooth
- Persistent pain
Can you save my child's tooth using apexification?
Apexification helps when a tooth has underdeveloped roots. The doctor extracts the diseased pulp and strengthens the root tip with medication to help it calcify. If apexification is successful, the tooth should not need extraction.
Why doesn't regular teeth whitening work on a tooth discolored by a root canal?
When a root canal discolors a tooth, the staining comes from the interior surfaces. Blood and other fluids can cause it. Teeth whitening penetrates the enamel only and does not reach the tooth's interior. Internal bleaching helps these teeth shine again.
Why should I have an endodontist do my root canal?
Endodontists can make your procedure faster, safer, and more comfortable. They can also help prevent future problems like retreatment and endodontic surgery by correctly getting the procedure done the first time. Endodontists are much more experienced than general dentists.
