Services We Provide
- Consultation: Whether you have symptoms that indicate a need for endodontic work or have a referral from your family dentist, we can work with you to determine your best treatment options. We will assess your situation and recommend the most effective treatment available.
- Non-Surgical Root Canal Therapy: Root canals are routine endodontic procedures requiring skill and practice. During a root canal, the doctor drills into the tooth to open it, removing the inflamed pulp material. The doctor cleans and reshapes the root canals, smoothing their sides to make reinfection less likely. After the tooth is clean and sanitized, the doctor refills it with a plastic material called gutta-percha and seals it with a filling or temporary crown. Your family dentist may add a permanent crown.
- Non-Surgical Root Canal Retreatment: Even if you had a root canal years ago, your tooth might experience pain. If this problem happens, visit an endodontist for an evaluation. You may need root canal retreatment, where the doctor will repeat the process and ensure that no infected material stays behind.
- Apicoectomy (Endodontic Surgery): This surgery involves making a small flap in the gum tissue to access the tooth's infected root tip or apex. The endodontist cuts the root tip and removes the infection, resealing it and securing the gum over the surgical site.
- Single-Tooth Internal Bleaching: Root canals occasionally cause discoloration and staining inside teeth. Since ordinary teeth whitening cannot penetrate that far, the endodontist will bleach your tooth from the inside and restore its attractive appearance.
- Internal Resorption: When children's primary teeth fall out, they naturally undergo internal resorption. However, when this happens to permanent teeth, it can be a serious problem. Dental trauma sometimes causes internal resorption. Endodontists can treat it by performing a root canal and using a calcium hydroxide solution to clean and remineralize the tooth's interior.
- Apexogenesis: A robust root system is vital for your child's dental health. If the root system fails to develop, the endodontist removes part of the pulp and replaces it with a bioactive strengthening solution to promote growth.
- External Resorption: Teeth experiencing external resorption become brittle and weak. The body's immune system may mistakenly attack the bone that supports a tooth, thinking that the nerve in the tooth is diseased. This can cause the tooth to loosen and fall out. This problem may happen when there are unerupted teeth beneath the gum or in the case of dental trauma. The endodontist treats it by giving the tooth a root canal and calcium hydroxide treatment.
- Apexification: Like apexogenesis, endodontists perform this procedure on children with underdeveloped tooth roots. The endodontist introduces calcium hydroxide to remineralize and seal the apex of the tooth.
- Laser Endodontics: Dental lasers have dozens of applications in an endodontist's practice. They help to make procedures faster, safer, and more sanitary.
- Emergency Treatment: Dental pain doesn't wait until office hours to appear. If you are suffering from a severe toothache, broken tooth, dental trauma, or another emergency, call us. Call 407-494-3636 to reach our Emergency After Hours Dental Care Helpline after 8 PM.

Frequently Asked Questions About Endodontic Care
How do I know that I need a root canal?
- Persistent toothache
- Pain when biting, chewing, or putting pressure on a tooth
- Extreme heat and cold sensitivity
- Swollen gums
- Pus on the gums
- Swollen face or neck
Be aware that teeth needing root canals sometimes show no outward symptoms.
What happens if I put off getting a root canal?
The infection inside your tooth could progress and spread to other teeth or bodily systems. Your tooth could become decayed to the point where extraction is a must. Getting a root canal promptly when you first notice the symptoms will shorten your recovery time and promote good oral health.
Why should I see an endodontist instead of a general dentist?
General dentists may have the skills to perform root canals and other endodontic procedures, but they do not necessarily have the experience. Endodontists have a higher success rate due to years of experience and expertise. If you see a general dentist, it is more likely that you will need root canal retreatment or another procedure in the future.
