Winter Park Harvest Festival

Taking place on a single day each year, the Winter Park Harvest Festival is a day-long celebration that aims to bring the Grassroots and Deep-Rooted of Winter Park’s local food-shed together by honoring the efforts of local farmers, gardeners, entrepreneurs, and generous individuals. A “producer-only” farmers’ market will be held at the event, where families will be able to acquire many of their Thanksgiving goods from the abundance of local farmers and gardeners. Also available is a mobile community garden with over a hundred raised-bed garden boxes planted by local schools, churches, families, and non-profit organizations. Seminars, workshops, and roundtables focusing on the local food system are available to visitors to the fair.

Cooking demos, organic gardening lessons, meet the farmers, and much more will be available. Food trucks and farm-fresh food providers, as well as popsicles and seasonal salads, will be on hand to offer samples of their delights. There is something for everyone’s taste buds. Come and sample the fruits of the harvest! Listen to some of the top bluegrass, traditional, and folk performers in the area perform live on acoustic instruments. There are a couple of youth focused sessions, games, hands-on and “do-it-yourself” gardening and crafts activities. This festival welcomes the community to join in celebrating, learning, teaching and building a healthy and vibrant local food system for all of our citizens to enjoy, regardless of their income level.
